A Short History of Springs of Grace Lutheran Church

2008 – 2013

Much has happened since Pastor Judson joined us over 5 years ago, on July 1, 2007.  Our congregation is certainly acting like a “Church” now.  Our membership continues to grow, in fact, we have almost tripled in size.  Of course, part of that growth was due to the addition of two “Merrells”, Pastor and Carrie’s daughters Addison and Camryn!

We have established an active Sunday School for adults and children.  We have a very successful Vacation Bible School program that grows in numbers and enthusiasm each summer.  We have an active confirmation program, having confirmed several of our youth with more joining the program each year.  Our Lutheran Men program was started and has enjoyed many programs and projects for the local community, while our Women’s Fellowship group continues their mission work and is probably one of our most strong small group ministries.

In addition to our growing numbers and growing ministries and programs, we have been blessed with amazing stewardship among our members. Statistically, we are on par or well above most other Lutheran congregations in our generous giving. But we are most proud of the way we are employing these gifts.  Our outreach to the community was nearly non-existent only a few years ago.  Yet now we continue to build on one successful event after another.

This brief history closes on yet another exciting time of our short life as a congregation. We have faced many difficult crossroads in our past and persevered through them all. With Pastor Judson’s continued leadership, our congregation had a bold outlook on our mission and we anxiously awaited our new opportunity to Grow God’s Mission out there in the Boiling Springs community!
