Revelation 11:15 15
Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were
loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world
has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,1
and he will reign forever and ever."
Revelation 19:6 6
Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great
multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the
sound of mighty thunderpeals, crying out, "Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.
Revelation 19:16 16
On his robe and on his thigh he has a name inscribed,
"King of kings and Lord of lords."
This is a popular time of
year to hear Handel’s Messiah being played on the radio, TV,
or even sung by many a church choir.A
few weeks ago, I was sent a link in an email to a
performance of the Hallelujah Chorus in the Macy’s
Department store in Philadelphia, PA.
This performance was part of the “Random Acts of Culture”
that the Knight Foundation puts on across the country (www.knightarts.org).All the singers are dressed as regular shoppers
(spread out among actual shoppers) who begin to sing as the
organist plays.
As
we approach Christmas later this week, I hope this video too
can be inspiring to you.Remember that
people stand up for the Hallelujah Chorus out of habit (just
a reminder for those of you at work that don’t want to get
laughed at).The Opera Company of
Philadelphia is being accompanied by the famous Wanamaker
Organ.
Enjoy!
In
our prayers this week:Norm, Jane, and
Jane’s Parents, Charles, Ann, and Scott.
Also, we have a lot of family and friends of the
congregation that are sick.We pray for
a quick healing for all of them.
